Meet the SoftTouch team

Bert de Roo

President and Developer

I like to build things. Ever since I was a kid I was always building something. It might have been a tree fort, a raft on a pond, a motorized trike, a dune buggy, an addition on a cottage, and many other things.

One of the reasons I became a picture framer was for enjoyment of building the frames and seeing the end product. Developing software became a similar passion. Every day there was something more that could be built onto the program.

A good day for me at work is to be presented with a unique challenge. Taking an existing need and designing a solution that will be of great benefit to all our software users. And perhaps the coolest thing I've built so far, is this business, with huge thanks to my staff and our customers.

Carol Graham

Director of Customer Relations & Training

What I like best about working at SoftTouch Solutions are the people I interact with: clients, leads and fellow staff. I find that people in the framing industry are very dedicated, friendly, and caring people.

When I am not dealing with framing matters, I'm busy as the chair of a large summer outdoor art show, president of the local community theatre, founder of our local camera club, an Optimist member, and Secretary for the Professional Picture Framers Association (PPFA) International board.

Carl Jagt

Software Technician and Tech Writer

When I was a kid, plucking away on the family Commodore 64, people would say to me, "you know, computers are the future." They were right, of course. But who could foresee this thing called the Internet? The world wakes up to new ways of communicating and finding information, new ways of doing business.

At SoftTouch Solutions, I get to help small businesses use FrameReady to do the heavy lifting.

Evelyn Ward de Roo

Social Media Director and Tech Writer

I am passionate about networking and communicating great ideas. Helping clients understand how to best use our products is important. I say to the boss, don't just tell me what this feature does, tell me why!

Writing good Knowledgebase articles helps to convey the breadth of how FrameReady can really help a business grow, be efficient and well organized. Organization is a bit of an obsession with me. Helping our clients learn how social media can be part of their business mix is fun and keeps me on my toes.

Neil Fraleigh

Contact Manager

When I'm not dealing with e-blasts, I'm laying in the Mexican sun.

Katharina Lardner

Bookkeeper

I put myself through university working in frameshops. I'm a stickler for details (financial ones especially). I am addicted to making stuff and helping other people make stuff, too. I'm the host of The Craft Bee, a DIY craft night for women.

I have travelled extensively in Canada and it's been my experience that it's always been the people I've met that leave a lasting impression. As a member of the FrameReady team, look forward to touching base with you, and assisting you in any way I can, and in a small way, making this great big world a little closer to home.

When I'm not in the office I enjoy spending time with my family and dog, but my creative outlet involves transforming fabric or yarns into clothing, quilts or art. A visit to a fabric or yarn store is colour and tactile therapy for me!
